QUAMED Learning Platform: Global Reach, Real Impact

Over just 20 months, the platform has reached more than 3,500 professionals across 138 countries, with particularly strong engagement from health system stakeholders in Africa and other LMICs. Learners represent a highly educated, practice-oriented audience, including Ministries of Health, regulatory authorities, NGOs, manufacturers, and pharmaceutical distributors.

Key highlights from the three courses:

  • Strong learner engagement, with completion rates between 35% and 47.7%, notably high for self-paced online learning
  • Clear learning impact, with over 95% of participants reporting new knowledge and skills gained
  • Consistently strengthened competencies in GSDP, MQAS, inspections, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance
  • Courses are widely rated good to excellent for relevance, structure, and practical applicability

Participants particularly valued the real-world orientation, case-based learning approach, and strong alignment with WHO guidelines.

The evaluation also provides clear direction for enhancement, including expanded language options, more downloadable resources, increased interactivity, and strengthened platform usability.

We have only been able to conduct this evaluation because of the outstanding work of Jillian Kohler, University of Toronto – Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, and Nabila Chowdhury. Jillian and Nabila did a stellar job analysing more than 700 evaluation forms completed by certified learners and synthesising the findings into a comprehensive and insightful report.

Encouraging to see digital learning contributing meaningfully to global capacity building in pharmaceutical quality systems and supply chain integrity.
