WHO Medical Alert: Contaminated Oral Medicines Identified in India
The World Health Organization has issued a warning after detecting Diethylene Glycol (DEG) contamination in three oral liquid medicines, COLDRIF, Respifresh TR, and ReLife, linked to child fatalities in India. These products, commonly used for cold, flu, and cough relief, are toxic and potentially fatal, especially for children. While no exports have been reported, WHO urges all countries to remain vigilant, enhance market surveillance, and immediately report any suspicious products.
Avoid using these medicines and seek medical help if exposed.
