Introducing QUAMED’s Milestone: Issuance of the First 2 QCP Certificates

QUAMED is proud to announce that we have issued the first 2 QCP certificates. Our Independent Decision Committee (IDC) has issued a QCP GSDP certificate to BaDM, a pharmaceutical distributor based in Ukraine. The IDC has also issued a QCP MQAS certificate to Imres, an international pharmaceutical distributor based in the Netherlands. The certificate register can be consulted on our website here. Please click on the link to the PDF file with the register to gain access to the actual certificates.

Fifteen years after the idea to constitute a publicly accessible list of certified suppliers was first launched by Jacques Pinel, the idea has become a reality. The initial idea was to see whether it would be possible to create a list of reliable suppliers (manufacturers and procurement agencies) in terms of pharmaceutical quality assurance, as a first step towards sharing experience and knowledge of the pharmaceutical market in relation to low- and middle-income countries.

DG ECHO, USAID and the WHO have preceded QUAMED with a prequalification and certification approach. We have public access to the DG ECHO humanitarian procurement centre list, the USAID list of (pre-) certified suppliers and the WHO prequalification programme.

We are proud that our QUAMED QCP programme is the latest addition to these publicly accessible sources of reliable suppliers for procurers in the humanitarian and development sectors.
