WHO SUBSTANDARD PAEDIATRIC MEDICINE ALERT
This WHO Medical Product Alert refers to 4 substandard products, identified in Gambia and reported to WHO in Sept 2022.
The four products are Promethazine Oral Solution, Kofexmalin Baby Cough Syrup, Makoff Baby Cough Syrup and Magrip N Cold Syrup from the manufacturer Maiden Pharmaceuticals Ltd, India.
Laboratory analysis of samples confirmed that they contain unacceptable amounts of diethylene glycol and ethylene glycol as contaminants.
