Strengthening Pharmaceutical Inspectors’ Skills in Benin
As part of the REG-PHARMA project, funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) and implemented by Expertise France, Quamed is supporting ABMed, the Pharmaceutical Regulatory Authority of Benin, to strengthen its inspectors’ skills in regulatory inspections, with a focus on pharmaceutical establishments (distributors and manufacturers).
Since July 2025, ABMed inspectors have participated in several GSDP and GMP audits conducted by Quamed.
- In November, 8 junior GSDP inspectors were trained through coached inspections with our auditors Laurine Lavergne and Jean-Christophe Pélissier.
- In January, 6 junior GMP inspectors will deepen their knowledge and apply it during coached inspections in Tunisia.
These activities enable inspectors to:
- Identify critical areas and risk points
- Apply risk-based inspection techniques
- Plan and conduct inspections using Quality Risk Management principles
- Prepare and categorise inspection observations and findings
They also help develop key skills: observation, questioning, triangulation, validation, critical thinking, communication, and decision-making.
Thank you to ABMed for their collaboration and to our auditors for their expert support!
